I don't know if many of you have heard of Diwali, but it is an Indian festival of lights, of happiness, and prosperity. It is the Indian New Year, and this year, not only is India celebrating, but Louis Vuitton is, too.
Marc Jacobs designed an exclusive collection for Diwali, taking traditional Indian fabrics from Saris, (one of India's oldest, and most worn outfits), and turning them into modern, trademark Louis Vuitton pieces. The designer told Vogue India, "Saris, to me, are beautiful." Taking those Saris straight from India, Jacobs' team then used them to create gorgeous Louis Vuitton dresses and other creations. The Louis Vuitton store windows across Paris, New York, Tokyo, and other fashion capitals will be decorated to pay tribute to the Hindu festival. In addition, Mr. Jacobs told the Vogue India, "From what I understand, Diwali is about happiness, joy, and light. So my message is-bring light into your life!" With Louis Vuitton's Diwali collection, how could my life not be filled with light?
