Long Live Harry Potter...

Jul 15, 2011

Today-the day Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 releases-, I dramatically bit back tears as I realized that today is the end of the era of Harry Potter-the books that I have read late, late, late into the night, and movies which I have seen at any time possible, whether it was a rainy day or a movie night with friends.  Harry Potter has been a big part of my life since the third grade, and I believe it will always continue to be. But I realized, as it states above, that the magic will never end. The spell that J.K. Rowling created with her words has enchanted most of the world, perhaps even changed their lives. She revealed that magic holds power, when it is used in the right way, for the right cause. She created a world where happiness, sadness, death, life, hate, love was all intertwined in a world where magic could case and create anything imaginable. J.K. Rowling taught us to say "Lumos" when you can't see through the darkness, to yell "Expecto Patronum" when the most evil of people try to take away your happiness. And through these spells, this magic, she created our own reality, where we could see the beauty and magic in our world. All of this was created with words, words that have been loved my billions of people, words that had more power than any spell Voldemort could cast. What made it so powerful was the love in which Harry Potter was written, read, seen, handed-down, and loved forever.

Today, the legacy of Harry Potter is not ended-because it is just that, a legacy. A legacy that will last forever.

  8. I know, I can't believe it's the last Harry Potter! Although I'm sad to say I still haven't seen the last one, I really think those films are best to see at the cinema, but never seem to get round to going! Definitely want to go and see this one though!

  19. although I'm not much of an HP enthusiast, its power over the masses cannot be denied, and its end won't be cut short by the last installation.
