Behold: the most beautiful fashion shoot of the year. Harper's Bazaar UK put together an astounding, stunning photoshoot with Daria Pleggenkuhle, photographed by Mark Segal. The photographs were dark, full of raw elegance, and tribal beauty. The largest element was gothic glamour, accentuated with African culture. Against the backdrop of an African safari, Daria looked like a dark angel, and was captured with such beauty in every shot. Tribal, gold, chunky jewelry infused each all black outfit with a funkier edge. The magazine described the shoot as, "wild", and of course, it was, but with a kind of quiet refinement. The photoshoot held grace, and a sense of adventure, discovery. Daria's look was a natural-a perfect fit for the natural beauty of Africa. Sheba, the eight-year-old cheetah who made an appearance throughout the shots, looked gorgeous. I think the editorial would not have been as incredible as it was without her.
Bazaar's September 2011 Issue was a constant pleasure, and even more so because of Heart of Darkness. It is my favorite September Issue at the moment, and a must-buy for any reader.
