Downton Abbey, the award-winning historic television series, has been the most wonderful break from the classic TV shows I generally watch, (from Gossip Girl to Glee). The breathtaking period drama depicts the fictitious estate of Downton, housing the glorious, powerful Crawley family and the servants who work for them. Each character is beautifully created, though their past, their relationships, and their impulse decisions during the uncontrollable time of war. Throughout the seasons, Downton Abbey portrays love, loss, destruction, and duty, with the magnificent backdrop of the English countryside. The show is absolutely incredible in terms of plot and characters but of course, I have to focus on the fashion, too. Elegant gowns, delicate military atire, tweed jackets, and flapper dresses all make up the enchanting Edwardian style Downton Abbey is now known for. Obviously, the fashion world, too, has taken notice of the allure Donwton holds. Vogue UK and Vogue US featured the three lead actresses in awe-inspiring gowns and embroidered dresses. Both Louis Vuitton and Ralph Lauren created beautiful Fall/Winter 2012 collection as a tribute to the astonishing TV series, Downton Abbey. Jessica Brown-Findlay, who plays Lady Sybil on the show, told Nylon Magazine, "It's all really quite elegant."
