A whole season has passed. Spring/Summer 2012 is now a part of history, a strong segment in the timeline of fashion. The S/S '12 collections marked a time where fashion has an electric affect across the world, through the technology all around us: from live-streams of runway shows to fashion bloggers posting every detail throughout the four weeks of fashion. Technology has greatly affected so many aspects of life, and has made fashion so wonderfully accessible for those who love it. As a fashion blogger, technology has honestly changed my life and has changed the way people look at the world. Fashion is now bigger and bolder in every form --- the accessory world included.
Earrings have always been my staple accessory; large hoops in neutral hues to ostentatious bejeweled feather earrings can be found in every corner of my room. Perhaps I have not noticed it previously, but earrings have not played such a large role in collections of the past. For Spring/Summer 2012, designers have placed a lot of focus on large statement earrings. Oscar de la Renta and Prada featured huge, ornate pieces throughout his collection while Jason Wu designed long, intricate earrings perfect for the chic Upper East Sider. The most important part of this trend is the size of the earrings : there were no delicate or dainty studs to be found. Play around with geometric structures, colored gems, and other details. For options, I chose six of my favorite pairs of earrings below. Lower priced options include Topshop and Diva, but if you are looking to splurge, check out Isabel Marant's and Kenneth Jay Lane's gorgeous options.
What do you think of statement earrings? Which look is your favorite?
