When I first starting blogging, I had the pleasure of chancing upon Chelsea's beautiful blog, Just Zipped. Chelsea's stunning photographs, with a breathtakingly whimsical aspect to them, are not the single highlight of her lovely blog. Her beautiful outfit posts (and an amazing collection of handbags!) reflect her effortlessly cool sense of style. Her Fall ensembles are particularly captivating for me at the moment, as I am working to integrate fall trends in my wardrobe. Read on, to get a peek into Chelsea's world of fashion + blogging!
1. What made you start your blog?
After I graduated high school, I was only working fifteen hours a week and taking a break before college. I spent all of my time making style and fashion collages on the computer, so finally, my mother convinced me to share my work on the Internet and Zipped was the result.
2. What are your must-have beauty items?
I never liked lip color until I tried Revlon’s lip butters, so I always have my favorite shades Berry Smoothie and Candy Apple with me. On a daily basis, I always use Urban Decay’s De Slick setting spray, Lancome’s Definicils mascara, and my favorite stick concealer by Physician’s Formula.
3. If you could design a fashion line, what would its design aesthetic be?
I would love to design a line of workwear with pieces like blazers, ankle trousers, and button-ups for the more fashion-conscious crowd in the corporate world. Creating pieces that make a subtle statement and focus on detail to stand out would definitely be the inspiration for my fashion line.
4. What is your favorite season for fashion?
I love cooler seasons, because I really prefer pants to skirts and dresses. I have always thought layering is the easiest way to make an outfit more interesting; the low temperatures in fall and winter are perfect for layers upon layers.
Recently, I have been lucky enough to work with one of my favorite brands ever, Minnetonka Moccasin. It’s a huge honor when someone you respect in the industry likes what you do enough to want to partner with you. They have been such a great team to work with.
6. What is one trend you would never wear?
Do Jeffrey Campbell Litas count as a trend? Those will never make it into my closet…
7. Which accessories or clothing items are you currently coveting?
My wishlist is always crazy long…right now, I’m looking for a cape-style winter coat, printed silk-button ups, heavy-knit infinity scarves and pointed-toe flats.
8. What is your dream job in the fashion industry?
I have a few ideas, but I definitely want to try my hand at fashion journalism and catalogue styling. Putting outfits together and then explaining the thought process behind it is what Zipped is all about.
