As I write this, I have just returned from another amazing night at Fidé Fashion Week, looking at amazing collections, talking to Singapore's most fabulous bloggers, and spotting dozens of celebreties. Fidé Fashion Week in Singapore is a series of fashion shows, on seven amazing nights. Throughout the week, different segments, including Women's Fashion Week, Asian Couture Night, Japan Couture Night, and French Couture Week take place. (All of which I am delighted to attend!) On Saturday, courtesy of the amazing Popspoken team, I was lucky enough to watch the lovely Silvian Imberg swimwear show. The show featured beautiful bikinis, flowing kaftans, and other beach-worthy looks for the petite, stylish beach-goer.

The show consisted of traditional swimwear pieces with an interesting twist. Imberg often incorporated a unique silhouette which successfully differentiates his designs from any classic brand for bikinis. An interesting concept at the show was the silhouettes themselves – below, you can see bikinis with long strings attached on both sides. The strings gave the Imberg show a couture-like aspect, one that I enjoyed.
My only true criticism for the show would be the overload of colors and prints; although I think this can often have a wonderful effect, the animal prints and flower motifs in the show were overly used. In a way, some skin-tight dresses could almost be considered tacky. Large fuschia flowers and a bold cheetah prints are not an entirely elegant combination and I do wish the design concept would have been executed in a better way. However, the addition details included in the show add a wonderful effect to the theme. Large oversized sunglasses and the smoky-eyed makeup look were glamourous additions to the looks. Most of the ensembles were not suitable for everyday wear, but the stilettos, in an array of neutral tones, are sleek options that would work for any outfit, really.

These prints were truly my favorite aspect of the show. The combination of warm orange, sea blue, sunny yellow, and bright pink created a stunning effect. Each ensemble covered in the print, with the exact shades used, was unique in its own way. On the left, a heart-shaped bikini top was subtly covered with a chic wrap, tied with a perfectly-placed knot. The picture on the right displays a sundress that is the ideal choice for a summer holiday in Europe. Overall, the collection was a wonderful visual display of swimwear and beachwear; the multitude of candy-colored prints and tropical tones created a delightful collection and a wonderful event.
