Hello 2013.

In 2013, there are a few fashion-based new year's resolutions that I am hoping to accomplish.

1. Try the stylish backpack. If the beautiful Cara Delevingne can try this unexpectedly adorable accessory, why can't I? The model, who has gained international fame and rising recognition this year, dons a quirky backpack during fashion week. Although I associate backpacks with the magenta Kipling accessory I carry to school everyday, these street-style snaps above make me want to wear the backpack in way that is not related to school. The mint green leather backpack on the left is refreshing in terms of color and style. This may not be a trend at the moment, but street-style stars, models, and bloggers are bringing backpacks back.

2. Use the carry-on camera. Bloggers must capture the fast-paced world of fashion with the quick click of a camera. As I tend to rely on the talents of my iPhone, the trend of carrying a gorgeous Cannon or Nikon camera as an accessory is not possible. However, this year I plan to both purchase and learn how to use one of these fabulous cameras. This piece of technology is the main accessory for all fashion-week attendees, and is the perfect compliment to any blazer, lace top, or A-line skirt. The fashion industry has brilliantly made this useful item to something chic and accessible, at the same time.

3. Be fearless when it comes to fashion. This is a more broad, slightly open goal really, but it is something I am sure I want to accomplish. In my wardrobe this year, I want to bring a certain fearlessness – looks that are like the beautiful, awe-inspiring looks I see on the runway and on style blogs. Because I have cultivated my own personal style which is very me, I will try to incorporate this bold, bright factor in a way suitable for me. The pictures above, with electrifying hues and intriguing accessories, portray just how fascinating such outfits can be.
