'13 campaigns.

Apr 12, 2013

You're flipping through the thick, glossy pages of an issue of Vogue. In between the wonderful features, content, and editorials, what do the pages contain? Beautiful campaigns, in a range of colors and locations, featuring the supermodels who have celebrity-like statuses throughout the world. As much as it can be irksome to see more advertisements than content, those campaigns are monumental landmarks for every brand, each season. With brands reinventing their aesthetics, displaying their classic design techniques and incredible brand ambassadors, a campaign is the way to present a message, goal, or inspiring image to spark both sales and imaginations.
+ BCBG: Sleek, polished, and bold – BCBG Max Azria provides its hundreds of customers with a whole new image for Spring 2013. The clothes, along with gorgeous black stilettos, were designed with lace and leather; two lovely, if almost contradictory, clothing details. The makeup look included a shining middle-parting, smoky black eyes, and deep maroon lips.

+ Dior: Raf Simon's trademark surreal touch makes a beautiful connection with Dior's recent makeover by the new designer at Dior. The campaign is most definitely quirky, with almost irresolute placement of flowers, a cloudy sky, and lamps. The details, when put into words, are truly random, but reinforces the surrealist ways of Simon.
+ DKNY: To describe the perfection of this campaign, only two words are adequate: Cara Delevingne. The effortlessly-stunning blonde hair, black-rimmed glasses, and combination of primary colors makes a for beautiful campaign. Its originality lacks, but detail to concept and color is beautiful. And of course, the presence of NYC in the background is a winning point.

+ Bottega Veneta: In a "cinematic" shot, taken by renowned photographer Peter Lindburg, one of my favorite models, Freja Beha Erichsen looks dazzling. Bottega Veneta's campaigns are often on the more simple side, and not the most interesting to admire, but this campaign broke away from the rest. With both minimalism and drama, this was a breathtaking presentation of their spring collection.

  7. I love the Bottega Veneta campaign, that shot especially is beautiful. The DKNY one of course also really catches my eye, but I keep on finding when I see it as a magazine that it's at odds with Cara as a model... I always think of her as a Londoner!
