lanvin spring 2013: collection preview.

Apr 14, 2013

Inside the quiet, chic corners of the Hilton Hotel on Orchard Road, rows and rows of beautiful boutiques are contained. The exclusivity of location, combined with the strength of each brand label, results in a luxurious shopping experience for residents and tourists both. Yesterday, my sister and I ventured to the Hilton, (after spending hours decided on our outfits and accessories) to enjoy a private preview of Lanvin's Spring 2013 collection. In the quaint store, divided into sections for menswear and womenswear, a small group of media representatives and Club 21 customers were treated to a presentation of Lanvin's latest looks. With just about seven models in total, and a handful of people in the audience, it was a quiet yet beautifully put-together event. Above are the details of the event – everything from my outfit to the delightful bite-sized macaroons. My sister and I both opted for smooth, single-toned Topshop dresses, in colors contrasting one another. Upon the end of the fashions show, guests walked around the boutique to experience the items that were offered. Delicate ballet flats, arranged in the stunning circle, caught my eye, along with a heterochromatic python skin clutch. Before we got to enjoy the details of the store, a lovely fashion show was presented, as shown below.
Firstly, I have to apologize for the lack of clear photographs – I was hurriedly capturing each look with the click of my iPhone, in between glimpsing at each outfit myself! Hopefully my iPhone-photography skills can still display the beauty of Alber Elbaz's concoctions at the prestigious fashion house. Both menswear and womenswear was displayed, and the concept behind each was quite different. Lanvin's trademark style pieces were all incorporated in his Spring collection – accentuated silhouettes, colored silk, and sleek stilettos. Elegant color-blocked, one-shoulder, and bandage dresses were all present. For men, graphic prints and precisely-tailored jackets were created. For any formal occasion, from prom to a cocktail party, Lanvin's creations are ideal. It was a dream to witness a fashions show displaying the Spring collection in person, and one day, I hope to acquire the experience of wearing a stunning Lanvin dress.
