For those of us who seek all the fun that Kate Spade offers but are in search for a slightly less extravagant alternative, Kate Spade Saturday does the trick. Newly opened at ION Orchard in Singapore (the news of which provoked a loud reaction from one very excited blogger), the store has everything Kate Spade originally has and more. Kate Spade, in all its glory, is the definition of fun – from the heterochromatic, candy-coated iPhone cases to the bags dripping in kaleidoscopic polka-dot and zig-zag prints. Saturday retains this quality, with the definition of "fun" clinging to each creation. The defining line between the two branches lies in Saturday's accessibility and more modern perspective. Minimalistic silhouettes, a pinch of glitter, and a sense of casual clothing redefined – that is Saturday in a nutshell. Throw in a retro attitude (which can be spotted in their adorable sunnies) and other creative merchandise (umbrellas, candlesticks and stationary to die for) and Saturday will win over all those who are opting to attain a bold attitude in their closets. The brand most certainly has something for everyone, from a workaholic – pop by their 'Desk' section – to a shopaholic – shoes, bags, bracelets, the works. For those of you who do not reside in Tokyo and Singapore, which are the two lucky countries to actually have the store, online shopping has never been a more attractive option. My weekend plans now revolve around popping by the newly launched store. As the brand describes themselves, everything created is "channel[ing] the carefree spirit of the weekend", which shines the spotlight on its namesake.
