Dress: River Island c/o of Zalora Singapore
Bag: Milly by Michelle
Heels: TANGS
Nail Wraps: c/o Gummi Nails
Earrings: Vintage
The relentless rain pouring down on the usually-sunny island of Singapore did not manage to postpone my photo-shoot on a Sunday evening. Sid and I still made our way to the stunning, agreed-upon location, The National Museum of Singapore, where we captured the magic of River Island's versatile LBD, gifted to me by Zalora Singapore. It was my first visit to the renowned museum, and I was in awe of the stunning structure. The architecture in itself is beautiful, and its overall white-washed finish just adds to its ambiance. Thanks to Sid's wonderful photography, and the astounding beauty of our surroundings, the dismal weather did not deter our intentions.
With the holiday season behind us, social events are more low-key and the slow beginning of the new year has descended. During the month of December, no matter where you are, there are multiple parties, family dinners, and general social gatherings to attend. And because of this, having a simple yet striking LBD is a necessity. As Karl Lagerfeld famously said, "One is never overdressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress." This is fashion rule that can never go wrong, and one that I followed strategically during the holidays. With Zalora Singapore's sponsorship, I chose an unostentatious yet statement-making LBD from River Island. Its figure-hugging silhouette, combined with a subtle almond-shaped detail, has made this one of my closet favorites. For this particular shoot, I paired the dress with a pair of black heels – which was playing it safe – but enhanced the look with a metallic silver clutch from Milly, which I purchased in New York City during my whirlwind of a summer. Add to it some vintage jewelry and Gummí Nails nail stickers, and you've got an ideal winter ensemble – simply put, it's a classic. Despite having worn the dress multiple times, I know it will last for many more occasions; this quality in itself makes it a classic.
