in between.

On a beautiful Saturday morning in Singapore, with the weather surprisingly tame for the first time during my week there, I had the pleasure of shooting a series of outfit posts with one of Singapore's most talented photographers, Fiona Sng of Smittenpixels Photography. The wonderful Fiona and I collaborated to shoot a series of exciting shots, all of which will be up on the blog over the next few months. It was difficult to squeeze in time during my absolutely hectic Spring Break, but working with Fiona was more than worth it. Over the course of the week, I barely had time to breathe, with all my energy going into attending events, much-awaited retail therapy, catching up with all my friends (who I hadn't seen for more than three months!) and spending quality time with my family. Living away from home has been one of the most valuable experiences for me, as it is something I have never done before. Being in Mumbai for the past four months has taught me more than I could ever express and it is an experience I am immensely grateful for. More than anything, I now explicitly have two homes: the amazing, overpowering city of Mumbai – a city which is difficult to summarize in just one sentence – and sunny Singapore, a city which will always be close to my heart. I was given the chance to secure my identity and I have done so without a doubt. This post has gone off on a tangent but it is partly an explanation of how my week in Singapore felt and partly a reason for my lack of attention to Moments with Meera, which has been unfortunate. The month of April will be much better for the blog, with some incredible new outfits, interviews, and giveaways coming up!

As for the outfit, I opted to reflect Spring style at its best, striking a balance between elegant and casual-chic – a look that is ideal for Singapore, in terms of atmosphere and even weather. To achieve such a look, the formula of a crop-top combined with a skater skirt can never go wrong. I turned to my new haul from the wonderful Singapore blog-shop, Agneselle, which is ideal for beautiful clothing of great quality. The online store is owned by the gorgeous Pei Ling, who multitasks as the creator and the model for her shop. I wore a pleated skater skirt (my new favorite!) in a no-nonsense navy blue tone. The white crop-top, adorned with lace and subtle opaque sleeves, was a natural and fitting option to go along with the skirt. My look reflected the slow, quiet beginning of Spring – and our transition to incorporating this season's trends in the most natural of ways. The outfit verged on the 'dressier' side – a vibe enhanced especially through the accessories. I topped off the ensemble with a versatile necklace from Accessorize, which retains a level of sophistication without being over-the-top. Of course, the fabulous part of the look was my Alexander-McQueen-esque clutch from Femme X, a Singapore-based store which sells items that are a cross between punk-rock and hipster-chic – all while offering us the most covetable clothes and accessories. The store's motto – "stand up and take charge" – is the perfect portrayal of the kind of girls Femme X is catering to. I could not be more of a fan. The elements of the outfit contrasted in a way, but blended into a look we can all channel for Spring. Thanks to Fiona, I was able to capture it in the best of ways! What do you think of this outfit?
